There aren’t very many things that freak Parker out.
Waking up in a strange place, with a woozy, aching head would be among the top three (right up there with eels and riding in a car operated by her cousin, Michelle). So, Parker sits up way faster than she should. Which does nothing to improve the wooziness, and alerts her to the fact that her ribs are seriously sore.
She quickly—if rather disjointedly—takes stock. Long trailing dress. She’s in Ambergeldar. By her hand, where her head had been resting, there’s a bundle of wadded up material--a cloak. Dirt floor. Chilly air. Rocky walls lit by two rather smoky lamps. A cave? And a rather worried looking man sitting on the other side of it.
“Perry?” Parker shakes her head. “I mean, Your Majesty?”
“Where are we?”
Her brain cells are finally beginning to fire properly.
“Holy crap, that was a dragon, wasn’t it?”
